Goldman Fristoe Test of Articulation 2
Course Objectives, Outcomes & Course Agenda

Prior to ordering this course, be sure to have a complete copy of the GFTA, with all testing materials.

The Goldman Fristoe Test of Articulation-2 is an individually administered, developmental norm-referenced instrument that provides a systematic means of assessing an individual's articulation of the consonant sounds of Standard American English, and determines types of misarticulation for children and young adults and compares individual performance to national, gender-differentiated norms. Sampling both spontaneous and imitative sound production at the word and conversational level, the test provides information about a child’s articulation ability, examinees respond to picture plates and verbal cues from the examiner with single-word answers that demonstrate common speech sounds. Similar to a Monarch or Cliff notes-type review, our online course and certification provides the essential information in a condensed and more easily digestible format.  This course is a review and training module for the Goldman Fristoe Test of Articulation 2.  It meets annual State Early Intervention requirements for continuing education hours in assessment and evaluation.

This instrument was developed using 39 consonant sounds and blends to identify articulation errors in the initial, medial, and final position of words. You may convert raw scores to age-based standard scores with separate gender normative tables for males and females. It is a time-efficient, clinically informative instrument for evaluating children's articulation skills for the purpose of documenting the existence of an articulation impairment and qualify the examinee for clinical services. It is standardized for use with individuals ages 2 through 21.

The Goldman Fristoe Test of Articulation 2 is appropriate for a variety of functional and educational uses, including child assessment, evaluation, student academic placement, Individual Educational Plans (IEP's), Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP's), instructional planning, and to determine eligibility for early intervention and pre-school, and school programs. Our on-line course will assist you and help 'fast-track' your learning curve, so that you will more easily learn about this valuable instrument and how best to apply it to the children under your care.

Prior to ordering this course, be sure to have a complete copy of the testing instrument, with all testing materials. Sign up now!
